So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
It is well known that a sense of isolation is strongly associated with suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Although many other causes can bring a person to end their life tragically, the feelings of isolation and loneliness in one’s life, thoughts, and feelings have been known to lead people down that path.
It is important to recognize the lies in one's mind. The lies are something like this:
“You are alone”
“No one wants you around”
“No one understands you”
“No one can relate to you”
“No one is there for you”
The truth is the opposite of those lies:
“You are never alone, God is always with you”
“Jesus Christ understands you and there are countless people on this earth who understand exactly what you are going through”
“There are others who can relate to similar situations you have been in”
“There is always someone who loves you, even if you don’t see it now”
Jesus defeated Satan and his temptations by applying truth to crush the lies. When you are at your weakest moments and the lies are overwhelming you need to take a stand and fight. Say the truth out loud until the lies are silenced. Scream the truths if you have to. Do not let the lies win.
The action of suicide never starts with a physical reaction. They ALWAYS start with THOUGHTS and BELIEFS that manifest into irreversible action. The battle starts with the thoughts that only you can hear, so only you have the power to defeat them. God is with you and will help you if you call to him. He will answer you, He will deliver you, He will help you!
I sought the Lord and he answered me,
He delivered me from all my fears
